Question:
How much weight should I be losing after a lap band?
Does anyone know approximately about how much weight should I be losing per week after having lap band surgery. I had my surgery on 12/27/08. I have lost 19 lbs. Is that on track? Thank you for your answers. — chachis1 (posted on February 3, 2009)

Hello...sounds to me you are doing great. I had Lapband on 12/15/09, and
lost 8 lbs the first two weeks. I've stayed the same weight since, and my
doctor said I'm not supposed to be loosing the first 6 weeks, as this time
is reserved for healing. I had my first "fill" last week, and
I'm anticipating weight loss soon. Best Regards, Lindy

I had lapband surgery on 9-3-08 and I'm down about 27 lbs. I was afraid
this wasn't enough, but my surgeon told me that I don't want to loose it
any faster than 2 lbs a week. I had my second fill last month when I had
only lost .6 lbs. I'm now down another 6 lbs - woohoo!! Just remember it
takes time and this is a multi-year process unlike the bypass. I have to
keep reminding myself of that. Good luck!

You should be shooting for 1-2 lbs a week for healthy weight loss.
