My diet instructions said that if this happens go back to liquids for a few
days and that should help.

You will plateau at different phases of your life. I am 3 yrs post op RNY
and I do the liquid protein shakes for a few days, then I get back to where
I need to be. Right now I am dealing with a "muscle build up" of
weight and I went to a dietician to reevaluate my diet. She stated I need
to bump up my food intake to 1400-1500 calories a day (I was at 1200-1300)
and to add more carbs like bread, crackers, whatever I can tolerate.
Again, this is suited for my and my body, my activity level. I wish you
continued luck! :)

I'm 5 months post op and I've hit several plateaus along the way. From
about 3 months out or so it seems that I hit one every couple of weeks that
usually lasts a week or two. I'm down 86 pounds. Usually I just ride the
plateau out and it generally breaks itself. Keep eating and drinking as
per your physician/nutritionist instructions and you should be okay. Good
luck!

I wnet through a plateau at 3-4 months and thought it was all over for me.
It wasn't. It is just that after the first few months of such rapid weight
losss it seems so unfair to plateau or slow down. I stepped up my
exercise, adding walking 4 nights a week after the gym, went back to
straight protein with greens, lo fat, etc. and tried NOT to weight myself
except once a week. After 4 -5 weeks, I started to lose again, slowly, but
I am down 40 more pounds in 3 months, so it will pick up again. You will
have to be sensitive to this and you will probably plateau from time to
time like most of us. Just "keep the faith" and adjust/check
what you are eating, change out your exercise and drink plenty of water.
Constipation: I put Benefiber or Miralax in my shake or my water with
Crystal light to make sure I get enough fiber and don't get constipated.
After all the weight loss your metabolism is slowing down and adjusting.
Take extra fiber and maybe a stool softener too.
Good Luck to ya! Vippie

Only four weeks out haven't hit a plateau yet, but as for the constipation
before taking medication to correct to problem try the natural way drink 6
oz. of grape or apple juice it should do the trick. Give it a try. Lisa

Your body needs these stalls to catch up...No one seems to understand
this...but it's normal...It's needed and it doesn't mean you've stopped
losing weight...Constipation could easily account for the stall
too...Magnesium will help...Either 200mg of magnesium capsules by mouth or
a little MOM...(milk of magnesia) Just do not..no, no, no... DO NOT take
more than the recommended dose and give it time to work...TRUST
me...Juuuuuuuuust trust me :)
