I am four months out and still having gas. I can hear the rumble in my
stomach before it happens. I heard that was normal and possibly to much
protein. I am gonna check.

Try probiotics (same stuff in yogurt cultures) They hel ALOT with
gas...Try eating yogurt everyday too...It really helps...
Most of us have bouts or really bad gas on and off...

Gas is not uncommon after RNY surgery. But not everybody has bad gas
either. Some gas can be expected, but if it's painful, I'd suggest you
contact your surgeon.

Where is the gas pain? When I was in the hospital I told my nurse that I
was getting pain under my left shoulder. He explained, that pain was my
new "full" signal. When I started to watch it closer, he was
100% right. I would eat about 10 bites or drink about 1/4 cup of broth and
that gas pain would start again. When I started limiting how much food I
was taking, in the gas in the shoulder pain was gone. I hope this helps!!

I to am just over 6 weeks out and boy do I have gas pains. My stomach can
be heard 5 ft away! I don't know about it being to much protein though,
because I am on hemodialysis and get blood work every month and they told
me I am not getting enough protein in my system. Maybe that is my problem,
I don't know. I sure would like to know how to get rid of it though.

Sorry to say I am 4 yrs out and still have it. Especailly if I eat too
much. And the funny thing is is that when I am at work sitting all day. its
not that bad. The moment I leave work and start moving around all hell
breaks loose.
