Question:
nausea
I had VSG done September 23, 2007. For the last 2 weeks I have been experiencing lots of nausea. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the cause could be? I can look at a glass of water and it makes me gag!! — Stephanie0279 (posted on December 20, 2007)

Stomach bug, pregnancy, gastroparesis, food or medication reaction,
gastrointestinal disorder, the list goes on and on.
It seems like a lot of people on this site assume that any GI or other
health problem, for that matter, is due to their WLS. You can definitely
have WLS-related problems, but you are still going to have (or be
susceptible to) the same problems pre-WLS.
Two weeks is a long time to have nausea. Please call your doctor.
If your nausea is limited to water, try crystal light or something flavored
and see if that helps.
Best wishes.

I had Open RNY on 11-27-07 and was fine in the hospital for the first 3
days, when I came out, by the second day I couldn't even look at water I
was also gagging. I checked myself back into the hospital and found out I
had Pancreatitis and that is why I was so nausea all the time. Happy to say
I am feeling much better. Good Luck!!!

Congratulations on your surgery. I had VSG 10-25-2007. I doubt if your
nausea has any thing to do with the WLS but you should call your doctor.
Could you be pregnant? Good luck and keep us posted. Pat
