Question:
HOW LONG DOES THE GAS OR INDIGESTION LAST?

FOREVER! Just kidding. At first the gas will last for a few months
because you have a new stomach. I've noticed that when I have a protein
drink it produces gas. Certain foods you eat from now on will produce gas.
A friend of mine can't eat Spinach -- it causes constipation. I don't like
spinach so I don't know. When I eat fruits and veggies -- I get gas. You
will have gas from now on -- well off and on. So it never truly goes away
-- it just subsides until you eat or drink something else that will cause
gas. That way -- you'll know the tool is still working.

OK, I am 5 years out and the gas is STILL there. I eat a variety of foods,
including sugars, diet soft druinks and gas causing food that most normal
people eat. If I ate a pristine diet perhaps things would be different, but
the sad truth is, this surgery makes your body have more gas than taco
night at the boys dorm. Best to you on your journey. Kathy In Massachusetts

Hi Sheryl, gas is an issue I have come to live with. I don't think it
matters what type of food I eat or drink, I still have gas. Sometimes it
is worse than others, but it is still my buddy. Our son came home from
college, and we were doing something, and I had passed some gas and I said
"oops, excuse me". He said to me, that's ok Mom, I sort of
missed it this semester. He cracked me up. I try to pass quietly, and
most times it is not fragrant, but it is my buddy for life I think. Take
care Patricia P.
