Hello girls, I am in desperate need of some shorts and shirts for the summer. I was in a 28 and am now down to a 22. Is there anyone out there that can help me before I have to go buy new? Please contact me at my personal email, [email protected] or on OH, thanks so much! — missyheffelfinger (posted on May 14, 2007)

If you live in an area that has a resale shop try there. The resale shops
in my area carry a fair amount of your size so you may luck out near you.

Check out local Goodwill's, chuch rummage sales, word of mouth, etc. You
don't need to have others feel bad for you and spend THEIR postage on you.
You *can* do for yourself, you know. Also, we are only *desperate* if we
allow ourselves to be. "Desperate" is a word to get attention.
"In need of" or "looking for" is a much better way to
approach things here. I'm trying to be nice here, ok? Just notice how fewer
and fewer people seem to answer your posts lately? Kinder words and better
used grammar goes much further.

What is all that nonsense about grammer??? If desperate is a word to
describe how you feel, there is no need to censor yourself to please anyone.
I get some nice things from Goodwill... I wish you well.

I would just like to thank all the kind people that have given me ideas on
my question. I truly appreciate your help and this website. As for the
rude comment, this website is for asking questions and it is people like
you that leave rude comments that ruin it for everyone. I sure dont'
believe i was being rude and if I knew everything i wouldn't be asking any
questions to begin with.

Missy, I am so sorry that there are folks out there so quick to assume you
want something for nothing. I can appreciate your feelings. Those of us
that lost quickly, and continue to lose know how it is to constantly look
for more clothing that is attractive to us and fitting to our new look! I,
for one, enjoy dressing now. For that reason I want to get the most for my
money. I would never assume that you would want anyone to send you things
solely at their cost. I apologize for the person that *assumed* you are a
desperate begger. So sad. As for fewer posts to your questions....I dont
see that as the case. That is what this website is for, and Lisa, if you
dont want to see numerous posts from one person, then unsubscribe, as is
your right to do. Just as it is Missy's right to post as often as she
needs to. Personally, I am embarressed.

Hi Missy. I hope that some people really have some things for you, I think
it is great to share. But I just want to tell you that I am 3 plus years
out, and I still get about 90 percent of my clothing from thrift shops and
salvation army and good will stores. There are plenty of places locally
that have clothing, even large size clothing. Be sure and check there from
time to time. Also, our hospital has a thrift shop, and all those pricy
doctors wives donate their expensive clothing to the hospital thrift shop.
Wow, do I get some bargains there! Good Luck Missy. Patricia P.

Missy, Are you involved in a support group at all? If so, check to see if
they offer any type of clothing exchange. If they don't, ask if it would be
possible to start one up. God bless you in all, Laura
