Hi Trysh! Your profile doesn't tell how long since your surgery. What are
you eating? Anything with sugar alcohols? Check the ingredients, anything
that ends in -ol (sorbitol, maltitol, mannitol) can cause the most horrible
gas in a lot of people. I can tolerate small amounts of maltitol and the
others as long as I'm going to be by myself and nowhere near an open flame
(:-o) but sorbitol causes such agonizing cramps I think I'm giving birth!
Most sugar free foods have the sugar alcohols, if you're very sensitive,
bring a magnifying glass to the supermarket and read the labels carefully!
Good luck!

I am 3 years out and still have episodes of "birth giving" gas.
It is the most painful thing I have ever felt. I keep gas-x gel caps with
me always. I just take 2 and in a few minutes it is all an unpleasant
memory. Try it. It really helps. You can't always eat just the things that
won't give you gas. Also, I use beano on anything that has triggered the
gas episodes in the past. Hope this helps.

Hi, I too use gas-ex, but I take the mint chewable ones and they work like
a dream.. watch your carbs too, they can create lots of gas along with
the sugarfree products out there.. I find that alot of foods trigger me,
so I keep gas ex handy at work and in my purse.. good luck, April
