Question:
How can I figure out costs?
I want to find out total cost of surgery: surgeon, hospital, lab and x-ray, hospital costs for surgery; hospital costs for preop and postop care. How do I do this? Prefer to find out insurer paid costs rather than billed costs. — Miss_Rumphius (posted on June 22, 2006)

In Colorado the cost with insurance is approx. 50-80k. If you don't have
insurance, the money out of your pocket is approx. 25-35k. If you are
planning on paying cash, you will need to have a slush fund available for
emergency's. Strictures can run around 3k each time. A lot of surgerons
here in Colorado will not take cash because of the unknowns, and they know
people just don't have a lot of monies laying around. Good luck

Usually the surgeon can break this down for you and it all depends on the
surgeon and where he will be doing the procedure

I paid cash and my total cost was $27,000.00 through Scottsdale Bariactric
that included hospital and all test. Your surgeons office should have a
breakdown of all cost.
Good luck!
