Question:
5 yrs post op - gallstones?
Can anyone tell me what gallstone symptoms are? I don't think it's necessarily related to my RNY but I have had a dull pain in my upper right stomach area under the rib cage and it radiates into my back. I've had a touch of nausea for a couple of weeks off and on, and feel bloated and gassy....any thoughts? I did not have my gallbladder out at time of surgery and haven not had any problems with gallbladder during rapid weight loss phase (that I know of.) Thanks! hey Kimberly. sounds like gallbladder to me,symptoms probably get worse
with greasy foods and you may be tender under your right ribs on papation,
a quick ultra sound should give you the verdict! good luck ! janet

could also be an ulcer. Be sure to ask about both! I got symptons for
both things at the same time, but they only diagnosed the gallstones. When
I had my bladder removed and recovered from the pain, that nagging feeling
was still there, and it turned out to be an ulcer! GOOD LUCK!

Hi Kim. You are describing exactly what I am dealing with right now. I
had WLS about 7 months ago and about 1 month ago I had a severe bought of
nausea and right upper quad pain. Since then it has begun radiating
through into my back. I saw my doc who ordered an abdominal ultrasound,
which I have Thursday. High fat foods send me into severe nausea and pain
and I end up nauseous and gassy. Go see your doc as soon as you can to get
a ultrasound before you end up into a severe crisis. Good luck. Shelly

Your describing what I went through already and have had my gall bladder
removed! Get to your doctor and discuss an ultrasound to determine if you
have gall stones, I had several.

IT'S YOUR GALL BLADDER!!!! trust me, mine is coming out tomorrow! I have to
be at the hospital at 6am. I have been having pains exactly like you
explained and my Dr sent me for a sonogram and sure enough there were gall
stones! So, you better go get that checked out. ~Melissa
