Question:
Has anyone succesfully used Medicare (TX) for WLS?
Did they have a lot of requirements? — Agrippina05 (posted on December 8, 2005)

Hun, go to Medicare.gov and find all the answers you need. Medicare covers
Bariatric surgery and they paid all but $900.00 from over a 25,000 bill.
Make sure you do your research and find a surgeon that will work with
Medicare. I was very fortunate and had my surgery on June 2nd. and so far
I've lost 115 lbs. Good Luck with your journey.
Love & Blessings,
Mattie

I don't know how far Porter is from Galveston. The Weight Management Team
at UTMB Galveston handle all of my medicare paper work. Everything was
smooth sailing for me. Just pitfalls in my life is what slowed me from
having the surgery back in June or July. I will finally have it this
Monday Dec 12th. Medicare is all that I have also. Dr. Micheal Trahan is
my surgeon and he is really nice and details every little question that you
may have. If Porter isn't too far give them a call. UTMB will work a
payment plan with you.
