Although as an Italian-American I tend to cringe at Chef Boy R Dee, my kids
like it so I have it in the house. I think that it is a little too high in
carbs so it isn't a good food choice for us. Also, the 7 1/2 oz would seem
to be too big a meal. Try to stick to higher protein meals. Good luck.

This very subject came up at my support group meeting last week when a 2 mo
post-op'er asked why she could eat a small 6 oz container of the Chef
Boyardees with a 2 oz pouch and the surgeon said that soft, mushy foods
slide right on thru the pouch and that we will be able to eat more of
certain foods depending on the consistency. This applies to soups and other
liquidy/soft foods.

Grace, congrats on doing so well. First off, I don't think that it was the
Greastest choice of foods, but, 7 1/2 oz of mushy foods, that doesn't seem
like alot at 6 mos. I can tell you for me, at 6 mos, i could eat a whole
6inch from Subway. For me, its all about texture. For example, I cam eat
a whole 1/4 lbs burger with no bread, but, if I have it on bread, only 1/4.
I can eat that whole sub, but, only 1/2 of a wendy's L chili. I can eat a
TON of shrimp, but, very little bread. I think you are doing great! Just
try to have the protein first and don't have the pasta as often. Good
Luck. heather 8/15/02 305/187/150
