Question:
Anyone had a breast lift and was unable to comfortably wear a BRA after 1 1/2 years
I had a breast lift 1 year and 1/2 ago and find it very uncomfortable to wear a bra. It hurts on the under sides of my breast, where my incisions were made. Any advice? — WREN C. (posted on August 2, 2003)

I had my lift in January 03 and have scars on the sides, but no pain at
all. I only had that during the recovery stage. It sounds odd that you
would have pain this late. What does your doc say?

Wren, are you wearing underwire bras? I found the underwire was terribly
uncomfortable on my old scars and went to Kohl's where they have just a
wonderful collection of all brands of bras...there are now really nice bras
with built-in support but that do not use underwires. Take a Saturday
morning off and go try on some new lingerie, you'll be a lot more
comfortable I'm sure.

Are your scars kinda puffy or not entirely smooth? Maybe pink or red? If
so, see your plastic surgeon or dermatologist....they can inject kenalog
into the scar which will smooth, flatten and desensitize the scars (I know
from experience). My WLS scar was like this and after treatment with
kenalog, no pain whatsoever. I'd think your plastic surgeon would do it
for free. It's a very simple relatively pain free procedure....just a
little stinging. Good luck!
