Question:
has anyone had a problem with losing pubic hair?

my pubic hair is now disappearing fast. i am preop and wondered if this is a result of obesity and the fact my tummy hangs down, practically covering the pubic triangle. has this happend to nayone else?    — JULIE B. (posted on May 11, 2003)

You don't say what age you are. But at 56, I have noticed that over the last four or five years that yes it has thinned out. That is normal but believe me, you will probably still have plenty left.

Julie sweetie, of course it is a valid question, I was joking. I often fall flat on my face with my jokes. I ought to give it up, but my kids say it is in my families genes. We all have this sense of humor and there are people who have trouble with it.

this is normal in the obese population. the skin is stretched out and it appears that the hair is thin in the area.

Fay, you slay me - and Nan, if that is the case (and I'm sure your right) why didn't the hair growth on my face (or legs) thin out as it got bigger? Seems the crop moved is all :>))) I am curious though, does anyone know, when they do the muff tuck, do we lose even more of the hair down there or...?

I do think that the rubbing of your tummy does tend to make the hair thinner. I kind of wondered if since it was always so hot being hid under my belly if my body thought it didn't need the extra "fur" (LOL!) Anyhow, I'm 30 and my hair was noticibly thin, not that I saw that area much with that huge tummy. Anyhow, I did have the "muff lift" (love that term!) and when they removed the fat pocket and pulled it up making it a much smaller crotch the hair seemed thicker. For me the hair towards the center was thicker and it showed that more. And FYI, its now been 6 months since my crotch lift and my hair line is actually growing upwards above the scar. And my hair is getting thicker overall too. Now I just need to worry about those on top of my head!!

I am with Faye, when I read this I was like "and the problem is" LOL, sorry, I know this is serious, so just wanted to say I thought everyone's answers had a valid point or reason. Could be "all of these". Hope we were helpful!
