Question:
Is there anyone who will work with a self pay but in payments?
I am willing to pay a decent down payment and then on monthly payments just to get my life back, no one will insure me because of my weight and i cant keep work either because of my weight i'm afraid i'm dont have much longer left if i cant get help soon. — Lisa B. (posted on January 21, 2002)

You'll never know if you don't ask. Be in touch with the Financial Office
of your hospital and bring tax information with you to prove the status of
your income when you meet them to discuss a payment arrangement. Sometimes
they will negotiate. Some surgeons will accept a downpayment and monthly
payments, you have to ask at the surgeon's office.
The anesthesiologist's charge for me was separate and wasn't that much
anyway, but the only way to find out is to ask. Keep smilin', Margie

Hi! Here is a link to a fellow bypasser's website. She discusses the
concept of vocational rehab paying for your surgery. If you are unable to
work and have no insurance or other means of paying for surgery, it may be
an option. Good Luck.

In Minneapolis one of the hospitals will do a loan, however, you need about
20% down (could probably get a loan from a bank for that amount).
