I for one, would be very interested in knowing what your surgical
procedures were?? It is difficult for me to comprehend two failures? I
reasearched this for over a year before I finally had my surgery. I am only
four months post-op, but down 91 pounds and very pleased. I worried myself
sick that I might fail...but, surgery certainly was/is the answer for me.

There is a woman in our support group who is going to have a third surgery
soon (or maybe she's already had it, we haven't seen her for a few months,
hmmmm...) She had an original stomach stapling back in like 1977, then she
had a disruption and had either a second stomach stapling or a very
proximal RNY in the early 1980s. She is going for a medial RNY this time.
She had other extensive medical problems like diabetes which probably
complicated things as well. I am sorry that I do not have all of the
details, but I do know this woman directly so it's not urban legend. What
is true is that both of her original surgeries were at least 15 years ago,
and were older, less effective procedures. I would be surprised at anyone
having a modern RNY and needing more than one revision and believe that
this is thankfully rare. If that's the case for you, how incredibly
frustrating and I hope the third surgery does it. Hope this helps.
