Question:
Low Blood sugar
I am 4 years out RNY and just now started having issues with my blood sugar dropping. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how do you handle it? — bikermama (posted on May 29, 2012)

Hi there? When is your blood sugar dropping? Is it a while after eating or
is it from not eating? If it comes a while after eating you might want to
look at what you are eating. Breads, pasta, carb-y things will do it, some
times even fattier foods will cause it to drop also. Your body produces
extra insulin to combat the sudden (remember - your carbs and sugars, even
though they may be in smaller amounts, are processed differently than other
peoples; they more or less get dumped directly into our blood stream)rush
of sugars. When there is nothing to back it up (protein) your blood sugar
will drop. Could this be it? Hopefully this might help!
