There are "Revision" surgeries available to those that need
help. One is called "The Rose" procedure (see Dr. Brian
Quebbeman, Newport Beach, Ca www.thenewprogram.com
They actually tightened up your pouch(assuming you had gastric bypass) by
going down your throat with the endoscope - so it's incisionless!
Also, I have heard of them adding a lap band to tighten the
pouch that has been stretched out.
Check out the website I'm sure you'll find it helpful! I highly recommend
Dr. Quebbeman for his experience, skill, and passion for changing lives!
Good luck to you!

Hi Olivia
I am sorry you are having trouble with gaining. This isn't easy, but can
you try to figure out why you are gaining?
Were you exercising a lot more before the knee trouble? Have you been
getting enough of the right kind of protein?--When we hear from patients
who are years out from surgery, who are gaining, it is often the case that
they have slipped on protein.
Feel free to call our toll free number and talk with one of our registered
dietitians, OK? You can find it on the Unjury website.
Kind regards
Jerome

First off I would start by keeping a food diary. remember, basic physics
prevails and says that you must burn more calories than you consume. I
would then look up the directions for the 5 day pounch test. after that
try to find the video's for "Chair arobics" it is an excercises
program that actaully gets your heart rate up while sitting down. I was
having some neck issues for a while and was able to do some excercise that
way. I have since given the video away so I can't tell you what it was
called but I know that they are out there. GOOD luck and Don't give up. I
would start with some of these steps before you look at another surgery....

First consider having a Fluoroscope done. This is set-up through your WLS
surgeon's office in Radiology. This will show what's going on with the
results of your WLS. You may have stretched out your pouch, which is the
most common cause of gaining weight. The procedure of going down your
throat to tighten the pouch is called The Stomaphyx, where they'll pinch
the inner wall of the pouch with surgerical stales. I chose the Gastric
Banding last April. But now just found out that my band is not where it
should be though it is doing it's job of causing restriction. But I'm not
getting the FULL Sensation due to that it is above the nerves that tell you
that we are full. Thus now I have enlarged my esophagus too. due to
over-eatin with to Band Restriction. But I still feel great.

You aren't alone! A couple good programs out there to help you are Back on
Track with Barbara (just google it) and Katie Jay's 30-day program. Both
are geared for bariatric patients and both Barbara and Katie are WLS
patients.
