I am 8 months out. My saliva gets thick and unpleasant whenever I have
eaten too much, or too fast, or not chewed sufficiently. I will notice
that not only am I salivating much more, but also that it is much thicker.
Eventually, I throw up and it goes back to normal.

I have found that that is the sign you are going to throw up. I think when
your food gets stuck, so does all that water and saliva, and it does not
really go down. I do the same thing, keep drinking water, but all that
really does is ensure you will finally puke. I learned to go ahead and do
it, get it over with, and move on. I threw up every day for 1.5 years.
Got really good at it!

I had thick saliva when i was dehydrated. Babies get stringy thick saliva
when they are...so make sure you aren't! If you yawn and have no
tears..you may be. I was ...had to drink over 80 ounces a day for 3 weeks
to get rehydrated and didnt lose while I was. Best of luck ! hugs<kim

Yep. Somehow you are still dehydrated so make sure that the amount of
fluids you are drinking are at least 64 ounces a day. Try these nifty
little packets of fruit or tea flavored protein mix by Special K and add
one to a 20 ounce bottle of water. Keep it really cold or make an icee or
smoothie with adding fruit, soy milk, vanilla protein mix and ice to a
blender. That makes 30 grams of protein. Good luck and God bless ya.
