Perhaps you need to spend some time deciding what it is that you want.
Going thru with weight loss surgery when you aren't positive this is what
you want to do could be a change you are not truly prepared for and will
regret later.

If you are overweight breast implants are not a good idea until you are
smaller. You lose a lot in the breast when dieting because they are mostly
fat. Slow down and make good choices.

Sounds to me like your not ready to make any decisions one way or the other
right now. Only you can decide if having gastric bypass surgery is the tool
you need to be able to fight your battle with obesity.

I agree with everyone else. Perhaps you better wait to have surgery
because it sounds like you aren't doing this for you and you are worried
about what your parents think. Don't do it before you are ready or most
likely it won't be successful.

Marybeth,
If you parents won't let you have weight loss surgery to improve your
health, they certainly are NOT going to let you have implants. Focus right
now on losing the weight and after you are at goal weight, then reflect
back on the breast implants. The implants will not look right if you are
overweight. They will not be in proportion with your body. Hon, don't
overload your mind. Stay focused on trying to let your parents give you
the gift of losing weight first. I have been following your posts and
don't jump the gun here.

Regardless of which surgery you decide to have, if you take your parents to
a seminar (or something similar for the other surgery), they will
understand it a lot better, I am not young, I'm 33 and my mom was scared
about me having surgery, but after she attended a seminar with me it put
her mind at ease about it since she's older and used to hearing the horror
stories about WLS. Good luck in whatever you decide to do!
