Question:
I want to know...Revision Good and Bad
For those who have had RNY revision, I want to know your experience... the good and the BAD, and don't hold back. I want to know just how much I would put myself at risk to do it again. — poodie (posted on April 30, 2009)

Whether or not this helps, I am getting revision surgery from lap band to
RNY. Not that I didn't lose weight, the band was removed because of an
infection less than a few months after I got it. But, I had similar
questions and doubts about getting revision but, once I talked to my
surgeon who has performed over 4000 surgeries and revisions, all of my
fears flew out the window. Revision, just like the first time, is up to
you, and if you have doubts, get a great surgeon who has extensive training
and background in performing the procedure and they will put your mind at
ease. Surgeries contain risk and especially revision, but if you have a
confident surgeon, then do what you feel is best for you. Good Luck

I have heard that the stomas related "procedures" help to lose
only about 15-20 lbs...But Your best bet is to go over to the revisions
forum and go back a few months and read to see for yourself which ones seem
to be working...There is probably no long term info yet...

I had a revision on April 1 from Lap-Band to RNY. While I can say the
recovery time has been a lot longer, I have already lost 20 lbs and am
tolerating all types of food very well. I was sent home on oxygen for a
week and turns out I am allerigic to most presctiption pain killers- but
that was just me. I will be one month out tomorrow, and overall happy!
