Hi Jennifer,
Welcome. If you stick to your program and soft food is allowed as long as
you don't overdo it you should be fine.
Perhaps taking a short walk would be in order or some light exercise. Also
keep drinking as much water as you can or crystal lite something like that.
Good Luck and God Bless,

I ate food right there in the hospital after surgery...Never did any liquid
diets and that it didn't stop me from losing 150 lbs that I have kept off
for 5 years! Make good choices and be good to yourself...You have a good
year to lose weight and eating is a part of that journey! Learn to eat
healthy, and in a year, you will be so happy! :)

Whoa. Ok, I'm kind of a worrier anyways, but I am ALARMED by your note. If
you had gastric bypass then you had a surgery that is not only restrictive,
but malabsorptive. Although you won't absorb all of the fat and calories
from your meals, you also won't absorb all the nutrients. This puts you at
"very" high risk for malnourishment. If you don't start eating
REAL food with plenty of good nutrients as soon as you can, you have some
nasty things to look forward to. For starters... hair loss (which a lot of
BGers complain about), constant fatigue, muscle spasms, bleeding gums, etc.
Please start eating as soon as you can and just make your choices as
healthy as possible.

I can understand your feelings. I was the same way at first - scared I was
going to ruin the surgery or eat too much. And there have been a couple
times when I ate too fast and it hurt that I wondered if I should make
myself throw the food up. But I immediately knocked myself in the side of
the head (figuratively) and reminded myself I don't want to form those
habits and cause a different eating disorder! We have been fighting our
obesity for so long and have taken this HUGE step, and want so badly for it
to be the last step. I chose to see a counselor to address these issues
right at the start to nip them in the bud. It's something you might want
to consider. And by the way, I have gotten past that now and am doing
fine. But it takes work.

Oh my goodness, it's like looking in a mirror! I had my surgery on 1/15/09
and I feel EXACTLY the same way! I feel so guilty after I eat something.
I know I am suppose to be eating, and I am, but I feel so horrible
afterwards (mentally anyway). I also am afraid I will not lose weight. I
just keep reading everyone elses responses to other questions and all the
weight they have lost. It's enough to help me thinking positively. I also
am going to get to a support group. Maybe you should look into that also
if you haven't already. I know the surgery is working though, I've lost 28
lbs so far and I definitly that get that "full" feeling when I've
had enough. Hopefully things will mentally get better for the both of us!
Just know you are not alone with that feeling. I wish you all luck!
