You just go over all the choices and information in regards to the surgerys
in a group setting. At the beginning you get weighed and BP taken then at
the end You will see Kevin and he will do a quick checkover to let you know
if he thinks your a canidate.

Not sure if you have attended one of Dr. J's seminars. If you did it is
alot of the same information. The whole consult and pre-op appointments
are done in a group setting. Then afterwards you go over your insurance
and then see Kevin for your one on one. If you haven't attended his
seminar you may not meet him until your pre-op appointment. Dr. Jawad is
an excellent surgeon so you are in good hands. I won't kid you it is a
long day if I remember correctly its about 4 hours. The pre-op once your
approved is an all day thing, you see Dr. J and then to the hospital later.
You must bring another adult with you for that appointment. You will be
given lots of info and scrips for all the testing and a few numbers for
nutrionists, gall bladder ultrasounds, and few others. Dr. J is one of the
few surgeons that requires a "G" tube with his surgery for
bypass. It can be an inconvience but is your own insurance policy against
dehydration. This is in place 5 - 6 weeks. Good luck on getting approved.

He is THE BEST! After searching, interviewing, reading, and gathering
statistics (including speaking to former patiets) of every Bariatric Doctor
and Hospital in most of Florida for over 2 yrs., I decided on Dr. Jawad. I
am scheduled for RNY surgery May 14, and i couldn't be more confident in my
choice! He has done well over 2000 of these procedures, and has very low
complication rates. If you haven't visited one of the support groups, they
hold one in Ocala (which is about 90 miles from me!) and one in Orlando
each month. You can talk with, and learn alot from others who have had
surgery there.
