Question:
Hanging Skin

Does anyone have a suggestion about hanging skin I've lost 133 pounds and have 66 more for my goal weight, but the skin is sagging so bad right now, what type of garment would be good to hold it in, I've even tired a girdle the skin is winning. HELP Gena    — mommamai (posted on December 30, 2007)

I lost 194 5 years ago. I have had no surgery for my skin. People ask me if I have . I wear stockings lartards on my legs. you can cut the stocking to fit on your arms. I have a tric I take a pair of stockings cut a whole in the seat cut off the feet and pull the seat over my head put your arms in the leggs like a shirt. This work great for beach wear I have a pic on my page in a black dress

Congratulations on your wonderful success! From what I've heard, SPANX was invented by a person who had had WLS (I'm not sure of fact) ...what I am sure of is that they are wonderful. They can be purchased online, ebay, Lany Bryant in the malls or probably any number of other places. Additionally, I found a very similar product (practically identical) at Bed, Bath, & Beyone for half the price. I think they are called "the body shaper" or something similar. They come in a blue and white box and retail for about $20, make sure to take into consideration the excess you'll need to put into the item you choose for the best fit. The sizes go all the way up to 2X I believe, I'm sure you are probably near small though... congrats again. Happy New You in the New Year, Leslie

Another thing you can think about is plastic surgery and tummy tuck, look into it first and then decide.

Although I haven't tried them, I have heard wonderful things about SPANX. Personally, I just put up with droopy skin for a long time, then got tired of it and had a tummy tuck. Although, I was lucky since I don't have any droopy skin on my arms. It was all on my stomach and inner thighs. The tummy tuck took off less than 3 pounds (it was really all skin), but it moved me from a size 6 pants to a size 4. Good luck! Vicki

Personally, I don't have any hanging skin ... but I heard someone say at a support group that this undergarmet called "Spanex" (sp?) is the way to go. Good Luck.

Spanx Power Panties until you can get a tummy tuck. It took me 4 years until I could afford a tummy tuck and the Spanx Power Panties were a life saver.

Same problem here, only my new best friend is Spanx. I wear them all the time, the tops and bottoms, you dont even know they are on. I started a thread about these a few weeks ago, my belly is my biggest problem, I am at goal after a year and I imagine I would be underweight by now if not for my hanging skin. I do not look forward to having it removed so until I do I will just wear my spanx. I found them much cheaper on ebay since they are pretty expensive in the regular department stores, well worth every penny, but I was spectical about them so I went the ebay route, glad I tried them.
