Question:
Caught a cold just one day from surgery. Anybody have surgery with a cold?

I did not have a cold but I showed up to the hospital the day of my surgery and come to find out I had a fever. They went ahead and did my surgery but the lady before me was canceled for the same reason. I would contact your surgeon right away and find out if he/she will still do the surgery. Good luck:)

Any anesthesiologist worth his/her salt will not permit you to go under general anesthesia if you have a cold and an associated fever. YOU should not permit it either. General anesthesia is not to be taken lightly and the additional risk of having your major elective (not emergency) surgery done with an elevated fever is simply just not worth it.
