I actually gained weight one week... Just stop obsessing on taking your
weight every week. Your body is adjusting and you will lose it in spurts.
Good luck

From what I have read on these postings is that every 3 weeks seems to be a
pivotal point in not losing weight. So let us not forget why we had the
surgery, not just to lose weight but to live a healthier lifestyle. Are
you eating better? If so the weight will come off, you must follow the
rules of the pouch. Be patient, good things come to those that wait.

Windy,
I am 4 weeks out Tomorrow. I lost a whole bunch at first with the 10 day
diet and the surgery too. Started at 259 and am now 225. I totally
stopped too. But it's weird. It can get discouraging. But I have decided
to stop weighing myself and be happy with the changes I can already see
happening. AND...It has only been one month. Stop and remember that. Now
if 6 months comes around and I am still in the same place I will be
dissapointed. But for now I am going to count my blessings. Good luck
girl ;)

Wow 40 lbs in two weeks that is great. When was the last time you lost
40lbs in two weeks? Your body is stopping to get use to it. Losing too
fast can cause you to have to have your gallbladder out. I am 4 months
post op and I have lost 43 lbs. Now that is slow..... but still 10 lbs a
month is pretty good or at least I think so.

This is a plateau and it is *extremely* normal. In fact, if you don't have
them, I'd be more worried! What happens is that your body is changing so
fast that it needs a bit of a break to normalize and get used to your
weight shift. You will lose quite a bit, plateau, lose a bit more,
plateau, etc. As you lose more and more weight the plateaus get a bit
longer until you get closer to goal. Just like with a real diet the last
ten pounds is usually the hardest. :) This is just your body catching
it's breath and trying to keep up with you. Completely and totally normal.
It happens to everyone.

Same thing happened to me (I'm about 11 weeks out) - I lost 31 pounds the
first 2 weeks, then nothing for 3 weeks, then a quick 6 pounds, then
nothing for 4 weeks, next week it was 2 pounds, then last week a quick 7
pounds. I've seen no rhyme or reason to it, although at first I was
frustrated. Now I'm just happy I've lost and am trying to keep a positive
outlook on it. It can be easy to obsess about though, and I'm sure all of
us can relate to doing that (especially me!)

I am 6 days out and have only lost approx 6 lbs since the day of surg...how
much I've lost is the least of my worries...I'm still trying to get over
the pain...not only that, I can't get over how I'm suppose to be getting in
all these fluids (water and protein drinks) and be able to eat too...I wish
I could lose 40 lbs in 6 months...you are blessed my friend!
