Is it normal to feel hungry a week after surgery?

YES! I found out that with me it was head hunger and aso because I knew I could not have whatever was being cooked.

I know I certainly did! I was having this feeling and I couldn't explain it. It wasn't hunger pangs but a variation of that.

Yes, because the fluids and the rate that you can take (sip, sip, sip) them in are not enough to expand the stomach muscle to signal to your brain that you are full. For me it was when I went on blended foods that I lost the hunger feeling and had the full sensation. It will come but not for a short while yet. Then enjoy not feeling hungry and take advantage of it and use your window of opportunity to make changes to your lifestyle and loose as much weight as possible.

Hungry a week after surgery? You bet! Actually I was hungry during the first week of liquid diet. Once the pureed food started I was only hungry occassionally. Wish I had that problem now. ;)

UH....Not normal for those like me who had DS. There are no hunger pangs anymore cuz we don't have the enzyme that causes them anymore. RNY patients still have it because they are just stapled off.
