Question:
How well does your skin bounce back after you've lost so much weight?
I am hopeful that I won't need any plastics once I've had the surgery, but I am 29 and have had 2 c-section's, I already have a bit of an over hang, and have problems with rashes and sores already? any help is appreciated! 242 — HAILEY (posted on February 16, 2006)

It really depends on how long your skin has been stretched also on how much
you have to lose.

My surgeon say's ideally I should lose around 100-108 lbs! and I've only
gotten so big since my last c-section 4 years ago!

Everyone is different and no one can predict the outcme after a substantial
weight loss--I have several friends that have has WLS and 1 lost over 130
lbs and has no hanging skin even though she carried the majority in her
midsection at 5'5--there are so many different factors to take into
consideration and the way I look at it is this: I had surgery to get
healthy and yes looking good is a great side effect, if I have loose or
hanging skin I will deal with it when the time comes but for now all I am
going to concentrate on is following protical to a tee and get the weight
off.....Good luck :) Lori

Depends on: age, genetics, nutrition, type of skin you were issued.
Another way to answer that would be: "?" On the rashes, please
start documenting with a dermatologist NOW. Be sure they call them what
they are: yeast infections.

Skin, once elasticity is gone/ruined....does NOT come back. THREE different
docs have told me this in the last year. It's inevitable. I'd only lost 50
pounds when my inner thighs started drooping...and the overhang got worse.
I'm now 137 pounds gone and there is NO way I'm escaping the plastics!
