Since the GBP surgery my taste in food in general have change. I cannot
eat chicken al all and I have hard time digesting apples but I do OK with
banana and oranges. I cannot eat watermelon at all. I cannot eat any type
of cooked eggplan either. I do avoid the fruits and vegetables that make me
sick and/or uncomfortable. I still drink my protein not as much as I did
in the begining but once a day now.

You are still new. 4 months is really soon to be able to eat everything. A
LITTLE juice is fine, but juice only wouldnt provide saiety, and that can
lead to bad habits

I am just over 5 months. I am able to eat canned fruit, cantalope,
honeydew, watermelon, applesauce, and banana. I haven't tried uncooked
fruit and will take my time before I do. I just last night tried dried
apricots that I chewed until I had small pieces in my mouth. Juicing in my
opinion removes the best part of the fruit the fiber and as was stated
above the satisfaction level.

Charlene, in time you will most likely be able to enjoy fruits and veggies
again. As for juicing, I am a big supporter of juicing, so long as YOU are
doing the juicing. I wouldn't over do it, but a cup or two would probably
do you good if you can't keep them down whole. Too much though will give
you added calories and you may possibly come accustomed to a liquid diet.
(not good) As stated earlier you are missing out on the fiber when
juicing, but you are getting the vitamins...and the enzymes. I am further
out than you and have no problems with fruits and veggies, so I throw a few
pieces of fruit into a blender and drink that as juice. Purchased juice is
usually paseturized, therefore killing the enzymes and a good portion of
vitamins. As far as benefits....that's an individual thing. I'd like to
say that juicing has changed my life, brought good fortune, cured cancer,
cleared acne, and opened my mind to receive the power ball lotto number
from the mother race.....but it didn't. I do feel a little better tho.
Good luck

Thank you for all the replies... I was not looking at juicing to go back to
luiqd diet or to use it for my fruits or veggies.. I am looking into it as
a way to help me with another way to stay healthy...

hi,now I'm from New Zealand so its common for us to get this mix here but
try it, its delicious and I lived on it when first post op
peel and quarter 1 potato, peel and cut up similiar piece of pumpkin and add
a little more, and the same with sweet potato (or equvilent in yams),peel
and chop 1/2 carrot, then add 2 03 torn up spinach leavesPut in pot with
enough water to cover top, add 1 tsp dried chicken stock and boil til soft.
When cooked strain and pour out most of 'water' INTO a bowl as this is very
nutritous to drink as it essentially veggie juice. To remaining veges add
small amount of milk and dollop of marg and mash well. For protein add
grated cheese on top and either melt in microwave or zap under griller til
melted. It is a lot of root veges but it tastes sooo good

Have you tried capsules called Juice Plus. You take two of the fruit
capsules in the morning and two of the veggie capsules in the evening. I
haven't had any issues with malnutrition and I don't eat that many veggies,
they are rough on me. I do eat fruits though, I have no problem with
most. Check out the Juice Plus, they are a bit expensive, but I don't want
to end up malnurished. Debbie
