Question:
I'm 1 month out from RNY. My left hip & knee is giving me terrible pain is this norm
Since being 1 mos out from RNY I am having mobility issues and severe pain in my left hip and knee down to my foot. I get numbness and pain. I cannot sleep and it hurts to move. I've only lost 21 lbs since surgery? Is this normal? — dawn5311 (posted on September 15, 2011)

Congrats on the loss:) Some post ops get pain from the way they were
strapped down to the table during surgery. Give your doc a call for help.
Congrats for joining the loosing side:)

I had pain in my left hip/thigh area when I had RNY 2 years ago. They said
it was from how I was strapped to the table during surgery. It did subside
after some weeks and I have not had any side effects from it.
Congratulations! Your life is about to change.

I had terrible pain in my total leg. My problem was sciatica, man I was in
pain, I went to the Dr. Recently I had breast augmentation, was in bed so
much that the pain game back, I slept with two pillow under my knees, and I
kept putting ice packs on my back, it went a way.
I would go to the Dr for you pain. You have to walk daily, I would go to
my grocery store and walk at first, that way I could keep hold of the cart
when I felt like heck.
It isn't easy!
