I am just beginning my process and have not yet had the surgery, but I
wanted to try to find a protein drink I could handle. In the past they
made me sick to my stomach. I bought some at Sam's Club the other day that
taste good and did not make me sick.
They are by Premier Nutrition
only 3g fat, 1g sugar, 30g protein
0 sat fat, 0 Trans fat
each shake is 11 oz
I put mine in the fridge before trying and shook well. Even my kids loved
them. They thought it was choc. milk. In the past, if I did not like
those drinks I would let the kids have them to find even they did not like
them. ha ha This time I think I will have to fight them to keep them from
eating mine. ha ha

I'm a month post-op and stumbled upon the Costco Protein Milk too. It's
very very good....I also like the Unjury protein mix and they do offer a
good sample pack. Wish there was a way that there was one website that
offered all the sample packs in one location from the various manufacturers
- geared for the WLS patient...wishful thinking I guess! I would only
recommend that your order mixes in 2 week quantities...I over did it
thinking I would like something for about 6 weeks...so now I have a pantry
of a bunch of protein mixes that I'm sick of for the most part. Thankfully
my husband is headed towards WLS soon so he gets to finish off what I over
ordered! LOL But we have been very pleased with the Unjury products too
which is what I over ordered. Cheers, Tee

Get in contact with Chike, they are really nice and they will send you some
protein. Also I got a bunch of samples from Celebrate, they are an awesome
company and quite nice.

If you do not find a good protein supplement you will run into trouble, I
had a problem with that but I found two I like now.
Good luck

Vitalady.com has samples. If you look around at the companies that make the
protein powders, some of them have samples. Some health food stores have
one serving size packages of protein. Keep in mind that your taste will
change after surgery. You may not like the protein powders that you liked
before surgery. Everyone likes different kinds of protein. You may not like
a protein powder that someone else recommends.

Watch the carbs and the sugars in the protein powders. Was advised by my
dietician to be under 15 grams of carbs per serving. Also what agrees with
you before surgery may not after surgery. Most have samples, you might
have to pay a delivery charge. Unjury, Chike, About Time I believe all have
sample packets. Good Luck.

My tastes changed after surg., I bought a few things pre-op and tested them
[in bulk :( ]and I liked them o.k. 6 wks out, I can't stand them. So as
mentioned, be very careful, samples are a great idea for several weeks.
Also GNC will take back products you don't like. Right now I am trying the
Protein Shots...45g protein per 3 oz, punch flavored, (but I REALLY have to
dilute it >1 qt water. Good luck. I hope you don't have as much trouble
as I have been having finding a protein(s) you can tolerate.
