Question:
1 month post op (RNY bypass). Is it normal to get dumping symptoms after excercising?
This seems to happen when I excercise (treadmill) in the morning. The symptoms are classic dumping syndrome, but I haven't eaten anything since the night before. — mel_ttl (posted on February 3, 2010)

It may be because u are dehydrated. For ex when I go jogging, if I have not
hydrated before I can get something called runners trot, which is lack of a
better word, bad cramps and I have to run asap to the restroom. Try making
sure u have had water at least 1/2 before and while u exercise, to stay
hydrated. I no longer get runners trot...I sometimes start drinking water 2
hours before my run...good lluck

I would also suggest that you check your blood sugar. I am diabetic and
have to make sure to have a healthy snack right before exercise or have
juice immediately after.
