Question:
Possibly need a unfill for lapband

For the past 2 weeks, I have been unable to keep food down. The only thing I can tolerate is liquids. I have my appt for adjustment on 2-20-09 with my doctor. The fuuny thing is my current adjustment was done back in early Nov 08, it was tight back then, but it loosened up. I'm post op 52 pounds. My husband suggested I have it loosened slightly, so I am able to keep food down. Does anyone have any other possible reasons why I am not able to keep food, considering this last adjustment was 2 mos ago.    — savoy7658 (posted on February 8, 2009)

You really should post this on the LapBand board. There are vets on that board that could advise you. As a fairly new bandster, I would call your doctor right away.

no not sure at all. I'm only 1 month post op and haven't even had a fill yet. Are you stressed lately? I've heard the band actually tightens when your stressed.

I just had a conversation with my doc about complications with the band. He told me that the sign of a slip is not being able to keep anything down. Please call your doctor ASAP and ask him to check placement of your band. Don't wait until 2-20. That is too far away!

Yes I would agree..I work in my surgeons office and have also heard that could be a sign of it being slipped. Please call your doc and discuss this with him, you don't want to get dehydrated.
