If I understood your question right and you feel bloated and are not
passing gas take a Gas-X IF your Doc permits it. They should have told you
what to take after surgery for gas. Hope this helps and answers your
question

I am 5 weeks post-op, had my first fill last week, and my answer is
"never." Maybe I'm just a gassy person, but I had serious gas
before the surgery, especially when I was doing my pre-surgery diet, and
now I still have it. After my lap-band, I had gas rise to my left arm and
I thought that I was having a heart attack or something. I even went to
the ER. Any way, my issue was the passing and the pain rather than the
bloating. Sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear. And no, Bean-O,
nor Gas-X, didn't help.

In my post-op class, they said it could take up to 4 weeks for the gas put
into the abdomen during surgery to go away. Some people groaned. I,
fortunately, only had the pain for about 2 days. They said it's usually
felt in the upper left part of the chest, like you experienced. If it's
really troublesome, check with your surgeon.
