If you can tolerate it, try Ensure; mind you just a suggestion or ask your doctor. vinnigirl

I can totally understand. I cant stand protein shakes. Luckly now I can eat most of my protein. At the vitamin sore you can buy single bottle of isopure flavored water. Its not as sweet and thick as protein shakes. Also you can get unflavored protein power and mix with v8. Check with surgeons office before you try v8 though. Good luck Paula

Hi Dawna...As a former chocoholic, I thought I would have no problem with those protien "shakes" boy was I wrong. The best protien supplement I have found is from Syntrax "Nectar" It is fruit juice based with no sugar or carbs. 23 grams of protien in a 12 oz glass. I drink the Fuzzy Nectar and Cappuchino flavors. I purchase mine through www.Allstarhealth.com Congratulations on this important step made to improve your health. Have a great Holiday Season!

Try unsweetened whey...GNC or online...do a search for unsweetened whey and add to soups, cereals, pudding etc....

eat as much cottage cheese and scrambled eggs as you can if you are to that stage of the diet yet. I can't stand any protein supplement but love cottage cheese which is 14 grams for 1/2 cup.

I too had a hard time with the fluids as the artificial sweeteners made me gag..lol I used to heat up a can of v-8 juice and add garlic, black pepper etc to make it like soup...but its a liquid. I ate a lot of cheese, yogurt, chicken, eggs, etc. Now I make an omelet with bacon and cheese and egg beaters and cut it into 4 pieces..each one is the right ounces for eating my meal...I am 5 months out..I also eat melted moss cheese with chili juice and a few beans. There really is alot out there with protein in it that is high...8grams per ounce..I also use unjury unflavored protein mix. I started by mixing it into milk, now I mix it into nestles flavored water. Your body only absorbs so much, but you can divide it up over the course of the day. you can also use crystal light and dilute it. I mixed 1 packet into a bottle of water, then divided the water mix into 2 bottles and made 2 bottles out of 1 packet. Made it easier for me to get down. Hope this helps. hugs ,Kim

After trying a variety of different protein supplements, I finally found one I can tolerate - Isopure drinks. I take about 4-5 oz at a timeover many ice cubes, diluted with water. If I let it sit for a few minutes before I drink it, there's hardly any smell. -MaryAnn
