Yes, the reason is that the liquids go right through your pouch/stoma
instead of sitting there keeping you full.

The first few weeks I realy did not want anything, but the shakes have a
good taste and not a lot of calories. They don't stay in the pouch, but I
was not feeling like I cared for at least two weeks. After two weeks I
realised that Sharkes were what I call slider food, they just go through
the pouch and right into the stomach, so yes, you will not feel full with
protein shakes.

Some days i get real hungry between meals, and also when i'm going to be
away from the house for a while, i add a K2O Protein pack to my water. It
really helps to feel full longer, taste great and helps me get my protein
in. You can get it at the grocer store in the diet food isle.

I have felt hungry at times and been able to satiate my hunger with clear
liquids for about 20 to 30 minutes or so. If keep drinking the clear
liquids the hunger will be kept at bay. I don't know exactly WHY this is.
I suspect that it may have something to do with the liquids flushing the
hunger hormones out of my stomach or perhaps diluting them. I have had the
Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy so my response my be different than others.
Basically the surgeons REMOVED most of MY stomach and the section that
PRODUCED most of the hormones went with the section removed. This may play
a part in how my system works now. I don't know. I am NOT a medical
Expert.
