Hi Kelley, If you do your research, I think you will find surgeons in
Atlanta who are certified Medicare. There are 2 here in Northern Ca SFO
area. Contact Medicare and tell them your delimma or go on the computer and
search for weight Loss centers in Atlanta, Surely some one there will
accept Medicare. I don't know about 100%, but I am sure if you deal with
reputable people something can get worked out. You need to work and
reducing your BMI before sugery so your liver isn't so heavy. Most surgeons
will expect you to diet before surgery. Good luck to you.

I am so sorry, Kelley, that you are struggling, but you have definitely
made a good start by beginning this journey. Whatever you do, NEVER give
up! It is definitely to your benefit to keep fighting for your rights for
surgery. There is bound to be a dr out there who is willing to work with
you. Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
Hugs,
LaNeta

Hello Kelley,
I know that this can be a struggle, but by all means please do not give up.
You CAN do this! A couple of suggestions, have you thought about putting
your part on a credit card maybe? That could always be an option. Or maybe
looking into another sugeron in a different area, maybe somewhere close to
you? Or possibly taking out a small personal loan? There is a way for you,
I just know it. Best of luck to you! If I can be of any help, please feel
free to email. My email address is on my website. Have a good one!

Hello Kelly. My bmi used to be 70. something don't remember now, but it
was bad. I was reffered to Dr Titus Duncan, Peachtree Surgical &
Bariatrics in Atlanta. There are 3 surgeon's there-- Duncan, Rashid and
Hobson. Mine was Hobson. LOVED him! Super super sweet and answered all
my questions etc...They are all suuuuuuper nice there, however, before you
start this journey, you have to attend their monthly seminar. Give them a
call the number is 404-881-8020. Once you start the journey, they accept
Medicare, Wellcare at 100% I never had to pay anything out of pocket
except for the $100 for the one day, 3 hour meeting/class with the
Nutritionist (something you will do after the seminar). The people at the
seminar will tell you everything you need to do to get the ball rolling.
Call tomorow as I believe the seminar's are around the 24th of each month
so the sooner you can attend that the faster the ball will get rolling for
you! Any questions, please feel free to contact me! Good luck and God
Bless!!!!

I don't know of any surgeons that accept Medicare as 100%. I live in
Michigan and my surgery was covered 80% by Medicare and 20% by Michigan
Medicaid (my BMI was 72!!). But here is a link to a list of surgeons in GA
that accept Medicare:

I wish you the best of luck!!

Hi Kelly, My sister in law has medicare and her surg was done at Pasadena
Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Renkie was wonderful as well as
the entire staff at his office. Pasadena Hospital was also very good with
all the people I saw go thru on the day of surgery. You have to use a
Hospital of excellance. I was told this means the Dr. has done a certian
amount of surgeries. Best of luck and DONT give up!
