Dear Sweet Lady...I just had RNY on 5/2/07 and after seeing what they did to my stomach etc. I can't imagine a Doctor even allowing another RNY much less the insurance company. I am feeling really sorry for your situation. I would imagine you lost a lot of weight and then gained it back. I thank God I was given the opportunity for this surgery and only through God can I overcome my addiction to food and I feel if I use the tools I was given I will succeed. You are in my prayers!

Yes, it's more common than ppl know or would like it to be. Since your surgery was done so long ago, was it open or lap? Was it transected, do you know? Some docs didn't do this even fairly recently. Can you see another doc in your area to evaluate if your surgery is still intact? I know some other ppl done by your doc, as well.

Your profile does not say what type of surgery that you had originally but you do mention that you have experienced dumping. I am going to guess that you had RNY. What you really need to do is get in contact with your prior surgeon and see if you have a mechanical issue or just you are in need of a life style change and to jump back on the wagon to get the weight loss rolling again.

It is called a revision and I had one. I didnt have the gastric done over but I had the lapband and that flopped after 2 years and i had a revision i had the choice of having the lapband done over or to get the gastric bypass. Of cousr I choose the gastric bypass because you lose more weight and I figured I idnt want to go thru what i went thru with the lapband again. You have to have a smart tricky doctor the get insurance to pay for a revision. I am assuming you need the revision because you have gained weight back, thats what happened to me. I started at 218 with lapband went down to 175 and was at 230 when i got gastric so it was very, very disappointing. Hope this answered your question a little. Thanks
