Honestly Renae this is worrisome to hear about. I think you need to get a FULL work-up done. I won't theorize on things it could be, and honestly I don't think after all this time it's anorexia, but you need to get a physical, blood tests, etc. so that if it is something serious you can be diagnosed and treated early and safely!! Please see someone soon.

you have the answer you are saying that you are pretty sure that what you are desribing is due to stress and/or depression. you are telling us how your body is reacting to your stress and depression. you are taking medication for it. How about seeing a psychologist to deal with the pain and the issues of the past and the current problems you are facing and not dealing with in a healthy manner. Your body is telling you that there is something wrong in your life that you must fix and take care of immediatley. This is the only way your health/body knows how to communicate to you. You must take firm actions and start making healthy changes. 3.5 years post-op you know how to eat and what to do in the food department. Now you need to learn how to handle life problems and you cannot do this by yourself you need support and professional help. I hope I am able to help. If you want to talk to me in private this is my email [email protected] Good luck to you Dani

Don't have much to say to help you other than let you know that you've got my support. I have health problems that have caused me to lose 60lbs (and counting) due largely to nausea and vomitting. I am constantly hearing "Oh, you look so great!" and I feel sort of at a loss on how to respond to people.. "Thanks, I'm really sick." ?? I haven't had wls so I don't know if this would work for you but when I'm unable to eat, I switch to a liquid diet... and eat popsicles, broth, gatorade. I work on getting my calories in through liquids. Good luck to you. I hope you find an answer. While it could be depression, it could also be something else so keep looking until you are satisfied you've found the root of the problem. Be it mental health or physical, you might find some benefit to seeing a counselor or a therapist. They can help you deal with whats going on. Feel free to email me. Good luck.

Before I began this journey I had the same thing happening. I was diagnosed with major clinical depression and was put on medication like yourself. I was put on a medication that caused the gag reflex and food did not even seem appealling. Talk with your doctor the medication should have kicked in by now and the dose may need to be adjusted or even changed. I very seriously doubt you have anorexia which is an act of voluntarily not eating yours seems to be involuntary. Speak with your doctor and if he is not a psychiatrist go to one as they are more knowledgeable about these things and treatments. I know I was seeing and working with a therapist and was refusing to take medication until I began to seek ways to commit suicide. I then let the doctors do there job and followed what they had to say and once the medication was found that worked for me it was like a light bulb went off. Everything was back like it should have been. Good Luck and contact your doctor.
