Question:
Can I thank Everyone
I just wanted to say thank you for all of the love and support that I have received in the past 3 years, but I'm happy to say that I finally have a surgery date--August 29th. To all of those who have gone on before me I would love to hear from you guys and let me know how you are doing. Much Love. — mischief85 (posted on July 9, 2005)

I am 2 years out, have went from 361lbs to 158.
I had a few small problems in the begining, but I would do it again in a
New York minute!
I had to have a hernia repair, so at the same time, I had a tummy tuck
(lucked up on that one..hehehe).
I wish you well and please feel free to check out my before and after
photos.

Hi Stephanie, I want to wish you well on you WLS, in a couple of months you
are going to love the new you although it would be just the begiging I am
18 months down from my surgery and I've lost 230 pounds, I can't quite
explain why it did'nt take 2years but I can say wanting to look healthy and
feel healthy made a diffrence, and it also played a major roll in my
successes with WLS. I now have skin that needs to be removed but not that
much just enough where I can wear shorts next without the skin, but at
anyrate you will do fine and will feel great, stay prayerful and keep him
near as I will continue to pray for you and your family things will be fine
with you keep everyone posted with you results looking forward to reading
your out come.Brenda Camp

Dear Stephanie:
I just read your profile with tears in my eyes. God bless you for your
perwsistence, your courage and your faith! You have hung in there so long
and I rejoice that you will enjoy the blessings of this life-transforming
surgery. As the time draws nearer, let us know the time of your surgery so
we can all hold you and your surgical team in prayer!
How tall are you, by the way?
Most people post their weight without their height and that lack of context
hampers understanding more fully what folks are actually dealing with.
I want you to know that I had my lap RNY 2/13/03 at the age of 55 1/2 and
now enjoy life on a level I never imagined possible for me before surgery!
At 5'9"+, I told myself I was simply big-boned and would gladly settle
for living the remainder of my life in a size 14.I wore women's 3X on
surgery day. My surgeon cautioned me that women my age seldom lost 100% of
the weight they said they wanted to and that it would be more realistic to
shoot for 50-75% of the 130 lbs. I told him I wasn't undergoing surgery to
settle for half! I followed his post-op regimen to a T and he gave me my
"century" pin at the first anniversary check up. To his
astonishment, I'd lost another 20 lbs. at the 2nd anniversary check up. In
June I crossed the 150 lb. threshhold = GOAL! I weigh myself about once a
month. I learn what size I am when I go shopping because the clothes are
slipping off my hips. Right now I'm about 146lbs., wear a size 6 skirt,
ladies Small tops and a "regular 10" Gap jeans. So don't let your
current sense of what's possible determine your adventure post-op! There's
a you waiting to emerge that you cannot begin to imagine - and she is
MAGNIFICENT!
Lovingly,
Lauralyn
