My surgeon recommends increasing protein prior to surgery. It not only can help you lose some weight but it will aid in your healing much faster. My opinion is, if you're healing faster you'll have an easier time walking and exercising sooner which will definitely kick start your weight loss post-op. My plastic surgeon is also recommending extra protein prior to my upcoming surgery. Good Luck to you - Anna LAP RNY 7/3/02 -123lbs.
