If so how would you rate UHC and where is your place of employment, so I can get a job there (smile) Yes I am desperate. — mischief85 (posted on March 16, 2002)

I work for SBC Southwestern Bell and we have United HealthCare Select Plus
POS. I had a choice of any Bariatric surgeon in their network. That was
about 4-5 in the Dallas area, 4-5 in the Houston area and 2 in San Antonio.
I did not need a referal from my PCP, I just made the appointment myself
with the In Network physician. I think UHC is fantastic. My whole surgery
cost me a $20 co pay for the surgeon's consultation appointment,a $20 co
pay to my PCP to get all the tests run and a $35 Inpatient co pay to the
hospital. You have to work there 1 year before you are covered by FMLA,
then you get full pay for your 6 weeks disability and it doesn't hurt your
attendance record. Yes, it is sweet!
