John, I believe there is a Dr. Noel at the Hospital of the University of
Pennsylvania (HUP) that does lap. Call their surgery department and see if
you can get his office number. Good Luck!

I know of quite a few in the pittsburgh area...such as Dr. Phillip Schauer,
Dr. Matar, and Dr. Hamad...I believe they all work out of Magee Women's
Hospital...also their is a Dr. Farid Elias who works out of Jeannette
Memorial Hospital.

John - The surgeon's name at HUP is Dr. Noel Williams. He is going to be
my wife's surgeon (she just got approved yesterday - no date yet). The
number for Patient Appointments is 215-662-2050. I had my surgery (open
RNY) with Dr. Steven Raper - who is Dr. Williams' partner. Dr. Williams
is an excellent surgeon.
<p>
We have an excellent support group at HUP as well - meeting the 2nd
Saturday of the month at the Silverstein Admissions Center from 10-noon.
The next meeting is 3/8 and you are welcome to come if you are looking into
WLS at HUP. I'll be there. We also have an online group on yahoogroups
with over 150 members...JR (open RNY 07/17 -152 pounds)

Oops...just noticed the date of the original post. I'd wish people stop
posting to old questions and bringing them up in the most recent answers in
the Q&A *G*...JR

I wish all questions were marked with their asking date. Its interesting
seeing some I am so scared and sure it will go bad, then looking at their
profile and finding that was 2 years and 120 pounds ago. The profile often
has a nice picture of their success.

Hi John,
My surgeon was Dr. Boorse from Allentown. He specializes in laproscopic
surgery and is very well respected here. The only problem is that he has a
long waiting list. Good Luck, Kelly*
