I had gast bypass 1yr and 4 months I was size 24 now in a size 14 thank God. But for some reason I can't seem to get under 180 pounds everyone said I should be down to 150. What should I do to get the weight off, now don't get me wrong I love that way I look and love the way my clothes look, don't what to look sick. Help!!!! — kaybusk (posted on July 15, 2010)

Don't worry about what others say... If you are happy and you feel great
then you do what's good for you. If you still want to lose more I have
read many posts saying start back at square one... liquids and advance like
you did after the surgery and it will/should jump start you losing again.

Congrats on your 100 lb weight loss my sister. I can only tell you what my
Dr and NUT told me to do. First, are you exercising?
Now the plan I had was to only eat protein until I lost 75% of my weight.
Also, my NUT told me that some folks choose to stay off carbs until you
completely lose all your weight.
When you do have carbs, they should be complex carbs. Matter of fact, I am
underweight and it is a battle to keep weight on?
I do not eat sugar also. Are you waiting 30 minutes before and after your
meals to drink liquids. Do you get at least 60 grams of protein daily?
Good luck to you!

Iam at the same boat as you, I am coming up to my 1 year and can't get
down. Went from a size 24 to a 14-16. But I just made a revelation i
haven't lost any weight since I came off my anti-anxiety meds. Has a
medicine changed ?
I'm going to look into it with my doctor. Maybe its a mood thing and I was
happier, thus for more motivated.

We all get stuck in the idea that we need to be at a certian weight. As we
focus on that we lose sight of what we have done. You are fine at 180.
Accept your self and the great changes you have made.
If you wnat to get a little smaller look at what you are eating and how
often and change it. If your happy don't worry about what peoplesay you
should weight.

Do you have any extra skin that could be the 30 lbs you can't shed? Arms,
legs, mid area are the areas to consider. I am not saying you have extra
skin, but for most that is why they can't get to their goal weight. Or for
some, their bodies are were they want to be (weight wise) and not everyone
will loose weight at the same target rate. So, you may be at a a plateau
and your body is catching up, or skin or perhaps you are were you should
be. hope this helps. Great weight lose regardless!! :-)
