Well.....not to steer you wrong, but I am 10 weeks and I et popcorn in moderation. I have taken apple slices in my purse at times too. Bariatric Choice has a lot of protien "snacks" too.

Sounds crazy, but give it a chance. Baby food isle, gerber graduates--yogurt melts. Tangy, I let them sit on my tongue and dissolve. You can be supper good and only eat 1 serving for 1 gram protein and 25 calories, or the whole bag is only 125 calories and 5 of protein. Thay look like flat hershey's kisses and I really like them for those "I need something (or WANT) times" when I don't really want more calories for the day but feel the craving beyond my 5 min trial.

My dr. says no popcorn, plus 9 weeks out, I wasn't interested in any food. I wasn't allowed fruit or carbs(including sugar) until I lost 75% of my weight. My suggestion to you is, ask your Dr. on what you can eat. My Dr. and NUT were very strict as far as food went. I am now thankful they were, at 6 months I am below my goal weight.

New lifestyle, new habits remember? Why not try NOT eating anything during the movie? Stick to a planned eating schedule and don't fall into a mindless snacking trap which is what watching TV/movies and eating is likely to encourage. You should stay hydrated however so carry your own bottled water or protein drink to sip on.

Why not take some beef jerky, nuts, cheese sticks, sugar free gummy bears or even a protien bar with you. I love the Think Thin protein bars. 20g of protein. Try the lemon one it is out of this world. Enjoy your movie.

My surgeon and registered dietician both say "No white carbs, PERIOD." And they specifically list white bread, white potatoes, white pasta (including the ones colored green and red and called "spinach" or some other vegetable pasta), white rice, and popcorn. So, when I go to the movies, I take along a bottle of Crystal Light - and an extra packet of it in case I drink it all, and I usually take a packet of 4 "roll-ups" made from Walmart's Great Value fat-free turkey breast lunch meat rolled up around a quarter of a piece of Weight Watcher's string cheese (cut in half lengthwise, and then in half sideways), and maybe a couple of pieces of JackLinks Turkey Jerky and a mini Babybel Light. In the early weeks I would sneak in a half-cup container with a quarter of a cup of fat-free cottage cheese with a tablespoon of Polaner or Smuckers Sugar Free Strawberry or Apricot Preserves stirred in, or a container of yogurt, or a container of sugar free jello pudding. I've even gone in with containers of tuna or chicken salad and a baggie of low-carb, high-fiber, whole wheat crackers or chips to eat it on. If you're going to take in Tuna, though, I suggest not sitting anywhere near anyone <grin>. I've always had more than enough food to enjoy... and just have to remember not to drink while I'm eating.

I just take a bottle of water in with me. (sorry - I refuse to pay 3 or 4 dollars for a bottle of water) You wouldn't beleive the power you feel in yourself after you go without a snack. You don't need to eat during a movie - that is something we are taught we need to do. Now let yourself know you don't need to eat. Just drink that water, or if you want some taste, use protein water, like Special K. I can't do crystal light becuase I am allergic to the nutrasweet, but I hear everyone say it is really good. Good luck - you can do it!!

I agree with the people who suggested trying to CHANGE those old habits and NOT look for things to "munch" on in between meal, Especially so soon PO. If going to a show triggers your urge to eat, you should avoid it for now or plan on going directly after a meal so you feel full and have a chance at changing your lifestyles and old habits...If you must munch though after avoiding it for several mos PO....go for something low cal...Might even try some hard sugarfree candy or gum (I'm a night muncher and HATE IT!!! Cannot stop to save my own life , so I do get it!) Make good choices when snacking...I eat as many vitamin rich whole foods as possible...I have learned there is no room for fake foods or foods with no nutrition. At 6 years I fight hard to keep my vitamin levels up (weight has not been the bigget struggle for me at all, but nutrition has been! That's coming from a big girl that is not a light weight!)... So I might take blue berries or other cut fruits and veggies in a baggie/roasted soynuts...sunflower/pistachio or pumpkin seeds in their shells so you eat much slower... You can take a small baggie of cut up cheeses and turkey pepperoni...Just make sure to measure out one serving so you don't mindlessly over eat these things...
