Question:
Im six weeks post-op and I want to go to the tanning bed.

How long before I should wait before I can go tan again. My doctor said I was doing wonderful and can now go to my gym for a lite workout.    — jerry1960 (posted on March 2, 2010)

I don't see what the issue would be. With any scar tissue, make sure to put sunscreen on it.

My Dr. said 6 weeks post-op I could tan. He wanted #30 sunscreen on my scars. My scars are very hard to see at 7 months out.

I asked this same question and was told as soon as my incisions are completely healed.I am so anxious to go!

Jerry please remember that tanning beds and booths just like the sun can cause many kinds of skin dammage including cancer and they will lessen your skin elasticity. You're loosing your weight to save your life why would you want to greaten your chances for skin cancer? As you loose weight you're probably hoping your skin tightens but sun dammage will cause your skin to me less elastic. Please take this into consideration.
