Well, my NUT said not to worry about calories at this point. She said, get
your protein in and no carbs at all. I have lost 101 lbs in six months
doing that.

I am 3 and half months also. But I don't count calories, only grams of
protein, around seventy grams most days.I figure the calories are around
1200-1500 or less as I have lost 95lbs. in three and a half months. Just do
the Protein.

Hi Brenda! I agree with the first poster. My registered dietician told me
the same thing - just get your protein in, and don't worry about the
calories. However, I STILL weighed and logged all the food I ate (and I
continue to do it even now), and I found at that point in time that I was
getting in between 400 - 600 calories. I am now 11 months out, and I am
eating about 1100 - 1200 calories and have hit my surgeon's weight loss
goal that he set for me (which was 170 pounds, down from 307)...and I've
actually gone 2 pounds beyond that! I now weigh 168, and have 8 more
pounds to go to make it to my OWN goal of 160 pounds!

Just like everyone else said - Just worry about the protein right now and
the calories come along with that. You can't go with no carbs though.
Your brain and body require carbs to funciton. Just make sure they are
"good" carbs and not simple sugars. If you don't have enough
carbs you won't have the energy you need and it will affect your thinking -
feeling foggy and trying to remember. There is an article in the February
newsletter from OH. The website address is:

Good luck.
