You should be on the thick liquid phase now. NO food. Thick liquids would
be soups like split pea, cream of broccoli, cream of potato (only cream
soups during this phase because they are carbs) Thinned down oatmeal
(waterlike), cream of wheat, malt o meal, Stick to liquids until your pouch
has healed and isn't sore and swollen. It needs to heal well. Baby it.
Maybe that is why you want to vomit. YOu aren't hungry and food triggers
the gag reaction. Be sure to get in your protein, you won't be able to get
all of the 70 grams, but try to get as much as you can. Set your minute
timer for every 5 minutes, and sip, sip, sip, and you will be on your way
to recovery.

If you eating slowly and the right things and are still having problems
call your doctor. Like the other poster you may be drinking/eating too
quickly and that can cause pain. Go slow with new foods to see how your
pouch is going to react. Remember not to drink fluids before and after
eating. Good luck

It is hard to think of eating only soups that are strained but this is
important though at a month you are near the soft food stage. eggs, cottage
cheese, refried beans, chili
eat very slow. You doctor should be giving you a list of apporoved foods.

I am having the same problem. If I eat just soups, cottage cheese, yogurt,
etc it is fine. But I have tried baked salmon, shrimp and it all comes back
up so I am sticking to New England Claim Chowder for the next 3 weeks and
hopefully something better happens! I don't have pain when I eat but it
does want to come back up!

That stage was by far the hardest for me. It will get better. Do what you
have to to get nutrition into you and just hang in there.
