Question:
Medicare and the psych evaluation.
I have been told that medicare will not pay for the psych evaluation written report to doctors, does anyone know if that is true and does anyone know if there is a doctor in Youngstown or Warren, Ohio that does not charge 150.00 for the report. — MzSmith (posted on September 26, 2009)

I have medicare and they will pay if you can find a doctor that will take
it. My doctor had a list of doctors. The one that worked out of his office
charged medicare and I had to pay 46.00 dollars. They should have a list of
names for you. I live in california so I am not sure about your area

The only psychologist that my surgeon uses does not take medicare, so had
to pay the $137+. If did not, they would not do the psych eval. So had no
choice to pay if I wanted the surgery.

Check at St. Elizabeth's. I have a friend who had her surgery there. I had
mine done at St. Vincent's in Cleveland and they had a psychologist on
staff.
