Question:
lap band after gastric bypas

Has anyone had lap band surgery after already having gastric bypass. I am having the lap band in less than 2 weeks and would like to know how you are doing?    — jeweleejhay (posted on September 12, 2009)

I had an RNY in 2001 and just had the lapband placed over it on the 6th of october... so far so good. When answering all of my preop questions in the hospital I did get a lot of comments from the hospital staff that they had never heard of such a thing and they thought the rny was permenent blah blah blah... but my doctor and I agreed this was my best option. I am so far happy with my decision.. recovery was much easier with the band over the RNY but I still cant sleep on my side i feel the band tugging in side... I hear this will fade. good luck to you. Let the re-losing begin LOL!
