Question:
Do artificial sweeteners make anyone else nauseous??
I have always hated them, they never taste right, now after surgery I actually get nauseous whenever I have anything with them in it... (I have tried them all with the same result) — wendy-s (posted on September 5, 2009)

I am totally against artificial sweeteners. I know lots of folks believe in
them, but there is research that has shown that they are not
good...especially when ingested on a regular basis. I don't like the taste
of any of them AND yes, I also get nauseous when I eat or drink something
that has it in. I spent $42.00 on a container of ISO PURE and now can't use
it because I failed to read the label before purchasing. When I drank the
first shake I made, I wanted to throw up! Instead I use a lil strawberries
or papaya, maybe a tiny slice of banana in my shakes, just to give a little
flavor. Sometimes I just add water and drink that darn thing to get the
protein. I keep strawberries in the freezer just to throw in shakes.

I can't tolerate artificial sugars either, always have gave me a headache.
I use Stevia it's a herb or just us real sugar. Stevia comes in powder or
concentrate, one drop goes a long way, not sure how it is for
baking/cooking with it, I just add it to oatmeal

I get headaches and kidney pain from some artificial sweetners. I use Sun
Crystals which are stevia and pure cane sugar (which is better for you than
beet sugar) and they are only 5 calories per packet. When I make sun tea I
use only 7 packetes per the whole gallon but I don't need my tea to be that
sweet. Straight stevia is good too and it can be used for baking and other
things. Stevia is natural from a plant and taste similar to surgar. It
doesn't give me headaches or kidney pain. My husband even likes it and he
hates artificaial sweetners. I hope you have great success with whatever
you try.
